It started with one woman’s story.

And now we’ve helped more than 6 million people get the kind of compassionate, expert, evidence-based care they need and deserve.

CEO and founder, David Hines, had a vision.

In 1996, David Hines had a close friend who had cancer. David watched his friend receive poor quality care. Why? Because she was never given the option to have the latest, best practice treatment for her type of cancer.

David wondered what might have happened if his friend had a medical ally or advocate, if she’d had somewhere to turn for objective, independent clinical support. He felt certain that her decision would have been very different, with much better results.

He saw a need, a gap in the system—and he founded ConsumerMedical.

For more than 25 years, we’ve been there for health decisions that matter.

For more than 25 years, we’ve been there for health decisions that matter. Our team of leading physicians, researchers, and registered nurses supports and empowers patients and caregivers as they navigate health challenges in a fragmented system.

Our intimate, one-on-one support model provides a consistent point of contact, backed by a physician-led team and the latest medical research.

We’re available when people need us, for as long as they need us.
