In 1996, David Hines had a close friend who had cancer. David watched his friend receive poor quality care. Why? Because she was never given the option to have the latest, best practice treatment for her type of cancer.
David wondered what might have happened if his friend had a medical ally or advocate, if she’d had somewhere to turn for objective, independent clinical support. He felt certain that her decision would have been very different, with much better results.
He saw a need, a gap in the system—and he founded ConsumerMedical.
